Pattern Cutting Taster Course

This ticket purchase is for two evening sessions: Monday 2nd & Wednesday 4th October, 6-8PM
In the first lesson, you will learn how to draft a pattern for a pair of trousers from a pattern block. You will learn all about pattern blocks, the information and symbols written on them and how to trace your pattern from it. You will learn how to measure your body and adjust the traced pattern to fit your own measurements.
In the second lesson, you will learn how to add scoop pockets and an elasticated waistband to your shorts. You will add seam allowance using a pattern-master, to your finished pattern and cut it out ready for use on the next course, where you have the opportunity to learn sewing techniques for constructing your shorts.
For those students taking the Garment Construction course, you will use this pattern to cut and sew your shorts in that class. If you are also taking the Natural Dye and Natural Printing courses, you will use your dyed and printed fabric to make your shorts from.
